Oasis stores have held an annual conference for their managers for some time. The event aims are motivation, recognition and the launch of new season ranges. This was distilled into two objectives for the conference; to inform and entertain.
Although we had produced presentations for Oasis for several years, 2004 was the first time that we worked on their managers’ conference.
We began with telephone research to delegates who had attended the previous conference to establish what they found beneficial, and what areas they would like to see improved.
From there, we produced several potential themes, the preferred option being to have the conference as ‘Oasis TV’ for the day.
The day featured a variety of TV programmes beginning with the news, and speakers didn’t just stand and talk; they presented programmes, complete with opening titles.
We’d produced a video of the whole process by which Oasis get the creative inspiration for garments right through production, delivery to stores, and even filming customers on a night out wearing Oasis clothes. This was run as a four part series during the conference.
To complete the job, we carried out further telephone research after the conference to check that aims and objectives had been fulfilled, and were able to report success in the areas that had been targeted for improvement.
